What you’ll do:
- Interpret project design requirements and translate them into comprehensive technical specifications.
- Develop and refine specifications for materials, methods, installation guidelines, and certification testing.
- Review drawings, documents, and BIM workflows to ensure alignment with project needs and industry standards.
- Assist architects and project leaders with constructability analyses and material selection.
- Provide technical guidance throughout design development and construction documentation phases.
- Coordinate and review consultant specifications to align with client standards.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Maintain and continuously update specifications to reflect evolving industry standards.
Minimum requirements
What you must have:
- 3 + years of experience in the AEC industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience writing or editing architectural specifications.
- Degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Expertise in specifications software programs such as SpecLink.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building systems, and material applications.
- Familiarity with building codes and the ability to research and incorporate them into technical documents.
